Let the alarm sound.

Well today was eventful to say the least. I woke up to the sound of my house alarm blaring, my phone ringing (with the alarm company on the line), and my daughter screaming it was an akkcideentttt mommy!!! LOL What happened was Katie got out of bed this morning and decided instead of looking in my bedroom for me she was going to search every room in the house, including the garage for me. When she opened the garage door she set the alarm off. Surprisingly I didn't wake up to my alarm going off, I woke up because my daughter was screaming in my ear and my phone was loudly ringing in my other ear. Needless to say it was a very fun morning. I got everything taken care of with the alarm company and luckily they didn't dispatch the police. I can only imagine how I would have reacted if I woke up to police officers kicking in my front door or standing at my front door asking me a million questions. That would not have been the highlight of my day. My day, however, did not get any better. Mike, Katie and I packed up to go to Sonic for lunch. Which was fine but when we pressed the button to order it took like 5 minutes for anyone to answer the call and so Mike proceeded to order. It took this girl like 10 times to repeat everything back and say we ordered stuff we didn't and forget stuff that we did order. So we paid and waited for our food. Our food finally got there after about 30 minutes of waiting and Well to say the least IT WAS WRONG!!!!! Mike hates mustard, in fact he despises it. Well his burger and my burger both had the most massive amount of mustard on it to make any normal person sick to there stomach. I mean, yeah I ordered mustard but come on seriously. There is no need for a full 2 tablespoons worth of mustard on one burger. So he sent his back and got one with mayo only. This is when we noticed that Not only did they mess up Mike's order but Katie's wacky pak was drinkless and toyless. We ended up getting a coin or chip thing saying we get a free drink at our next visit. BIG WHOOP!!!! Katie still never got her toy or her drink... So I shared mine with her. Needless to say it was a very very very bad trip to Sonic. I am not even sure that I will go back and redeem our free drink. Anywho that has been my day so far. It has been very exhausting.

Room is almost ready

Well after puting the new laminate flooring we had to put all the stuff back into it. However we made this room more or less the kid TV room/workout room. The weight bench, eliptical and the huge TV are in there. As well as the futon. Got to have somewhere to sit. I am still trying to figure out what to do with all of the stuff that was in our wall unit that we bought in Germany. Because that thing went to the fire. Now I have all kinds of glasses, plaques, stuff from our wedding, pictures and other decorative stuff that was in the glass case to put somewhere. I just have to figure out where I am going to put all this stuff. I tell you what come this summer when it is a little warmer we are having a much needed garage sale. I will be going through all of Katie's old clothes and more than likely sending a lot of them to Mike's sister. Lucky for her she will probably never need to buy Allison any clothes if I have anything to with it. Not to mention I have lots of toys to get rid of to. However pulling toys away from a child is like pulling teeth. Hopefully I can pry them out of her little hands so we can get rid of them. Well until next time stay safe and enjoy reading my posts.

Today was picture day.

Well back in November I bought a package for Olan Mills. Well usually those things have expiration dates. Well of course mine did. It expired on Dec. 31, 2010. LOL, well I called today to see if they would still honor it because I already paid $14.95 for the package. Well they did, and they scheduled an appointment for today at 5 PM. So we got Katie all dolled up in her new dress and shoes and off to Olan Mills we went.

She insisted on taking her Polar Bear stuffed animal in to take a picture with her. It was very cute. Anyway pictures went very well. She had a blast, and for once she listened to what someone was telling her to do.

After that we came home and I cooked spagetti for dinner and she ate every last bit of it. She has actually been a very well behaved child today. Which is very unusal. She is normally a wholly terror. Well looks like it is almost bedtime for munchkin, so I better get on it. See y'all later.

Doing laminate flooring today!!!!

Well today has been a long day to say the least. We got up this morning at around 8 am and started cleaning out our front room to start putting in laminate flooring. We figured out that our wall unit that we bought in germany was falling apart so we broke it down and started to burn it in the burn pit in the backyard. It definitely got used, it was just time to let it go. Then we started putting in the floor. Reason behind putting in new floors is because back in October of 2009 we had a huge rain storm and well it kinda flooded my front room so we ripped up the carpet and gated the room off until we were able to afford buying the materials to replace the floor. Thank god for tax time. I was so tired of looking at concrete. So we finally are getting to replace it. We decided that we would go ahead and pull up the laminate in the front entry way as well. Good thing we did because the water also damaged it pretty bad on the underneath side. It had a little bit of mold which I am glad is now no longer in my house. Boy howdy we could have gotten really sick. Anyway the floor is still going in as I type. Mike is fighting with angles because the hall closet needs floor too. Well until next time I am going to go finish helping my hubby! I will post pictures of the finished product as soon as we get the room finished and everything in its place. Talk to you guys later.

Long time!!!

From looking at my previous posts it has been forever since I have been on here to blog. Let me tell ya I have been super busy. Well since my last blog my family and I have successfully moved into our new home and have been here for about 2 years now. I have finished both my associates degree and my bacholers degree. Not to mention I have lost my grandmother to breast cancer, my mother to pancreatic cancer and my great grandmother to old age. It has been a tough couple of years to say the least. However, we have faced many emotional moments but we have also been blessed with beautiful momments as well. We have had many friends that have brought beautiful life into the world as well as a loss of a friends child. Kaitlynn has had two birthdays and two christmas's since my last blog. She is now a busy three year old that absolutely loves to help. She likes helping do laundry, dishes, clean her room, etc. You name it she is right there by your side helping. Mike and I are doing wonderful, next month it will be 5 years that we have been together. Then in May it will be 4 years that we have been married. It seems like only yesterday I was meeting the love of my life. So far this has been a wonderful adventure and I thank god everyday for placing Mike in my life. Lets see now what else has happened in the long time that I haven't posted. Well we sold our truck and Mike bought a '46 Ford to restore. It is coming along but there will always be bumps in the road. Well that is all for now. I will try to keep you updated. Thanks to my followers and sorry it has been so long.

Eventful Week!!

Let me tell ya this week has been crazy. We have been in our new home that we are actually buying (which feels so great) for 3 weeks and well we have had to buy a futon and some other stuff. We have remodeled our master bathroom and are getting ready to paint Kaitlynns room. We haven't had our household goods since January 3rd. We ended up getting our unaccompanied baggage on the 13th of January which had Kaitlynns crib in it and all of our cloths, so we are fine in that department.
Our truck left Germany on the 7th of January and it finally got here on March 2nd. Mike went and picked it up this weekend and it is finally back with us. However there is quit a bit of damage from the shipping. I hate the moving compianies that the military gets, because they chose the cheapest people and then alot of our stuff gets broken.
Anywho more about our household goods. I am super excited because they will be here on Monday. I will FINALLY have my bed. Oh how I miss that thing. It is quit depressing. We have been sleeping on the floor, air mattress and now a futon. I just want my comfy bed back. We will finally have all of our furniture and I can't wait.
Well I guess it hasn't been that eventful but it works. See ya later.

My lastest Adventures!!!

Well heck where do I start....It has been a crazy couple of months. I was living in Germany for the past five years so had gotten really comfortable with life and did expect much of anything to change. However, being a military spouse change is all we do. We got our orders in Novemeber 08 and we started planning our BIG move from Germany to Little Rock, Arkansas. Little did we know it was going to be a nightmare. Everything was great once we got our orders. It just took them forever to get them to us, seeing how my husband had lasic eye surgery and was considered DNIF (for those none military folk: he was unable to fly, deploy, go anywhere). Once that was lifted we got our orders....Thank God!!! We sold our Jeep and our Toyota and had one last thrilling trip with our friends. We went on a skiing/snowboarding trip to Interlaken, Switzerland. It was definately an awesome time. It was Kaitlynn's first time to really see and touch snow. She had a blast. We had some bad luck on our trip back and our truck had to limp home. We all made it home just fine though. It was a wonderful trip.

Then when we came back from our trip it was time to get the house together for the movers to come pick up ALL of our stuff. It was such a crazy day. I seriously mean to tell you they came in like a worldwind and packed the house in about 8 hours. It was super crazy. We ended up having 9 crates including the ones our bikes went in.

The movers were Turkish and didn't speak much english. It was a nightmare, they marked all of our stuff damaged. Which wasn't true at all. So we had to start a case with the base. Which is a big pain in the butt. We then got to ship our truck which was fun. We had to borrow a vehicle from a friend until we left. It was ok but we really don't like borrowing stuff from. Finally the day came for us to hop on the plane and go back stateside. It was good we got to Ramstein on time and checked in and checked our dog Sammy in. We then had to wait three hours sitting on the plane because Ramstein got a blizzard. This set us behind schedule. So by the time we got to Baltimore we had exactly an hour and a half to pick up all of our baggage (including Sammy our dog). Go through customs, go to the check out counter to recheck Sammy and get our tickets and then catch our plane. Needless to say we stayed overnight in Baltimore.
It was a nightmare because through all of our arguing with the airlines we also made aware that Sammy's kennel was too large. This became a problem. The Air Force told us that Sammy had to have the largest kennel. So we got him an Extra Large kennel. Little did we know, his kennel wouldn't fit on the prop job airplanes that we were supposed to take from Baltimore to Alanta and from Atlanta to Little Rock. So we did what any other dog owner would have done. We traded in his kennel for a smaller one. We went to the airport to get our tickets and leave and we couldn't. Again the Airlines SUCK!!!!! We get there and we couldn't check Sammy in because it was TOO COLD OUTSIDE!!!! Give me a break he lived in Germany for pete's sack. He was born in Germany and lived there for his whole life until now and they wanted to tell me the ground tempature was to cold. BS!!!!! When we asked for an explanation or more information on the whole ordeal the lady at the Delta Airlines front desk tells us that "She doesn't have to explain anything because it is just the rules!!!" We were pissed. Finally we ended up getting ahold of SATO and got reimbursed our tickets and rented a van. We drove 20 hrs straight from Baltimore, Maryland to Little Rock, Arkansas. We made it and finally got to sleep.
We stayed with our friends Russ and Misty and the real fun only started. We spent the next week house hunting. I know we looked at 100 houses or more. But we finally found the one house that we fell in love with. It is perfect. We started the paper work and then started yet another adventure. LEAVE!!!!! We drove from LR to Kansas to spend a week with Mike's parents. It went well, it was definately a good time. Kaitlynn had a great time with her Grandma and Grandpa. After that week was up we drove from Kansas to Lubbock, TX to spent a week with my Mom. That was fun as well. Kaitlynn had a blast spending time with Nana. However my mom had just had a pacemaker put in so she couldn't push, pull, pick up or anything. We then left after that week was up and drove down to San Angelo, Tx. to see my Dad. He fixed our car and got to spend lots of time with Kaitlynn. She loved pulling her Papa's hair and playing with Gizmo.
Finally our trip was almost over. We drove back to Little Rock to close on the house. We closed on the house and finally got to move in. HOWEVER, we still don't have our Household goods.......which reallly sucks. I want my bed!!!!!! Well that has been our adventure and life has been extremely hectic, but it was fun. I am just glad we can relax and get things back to normal.
Until next time be safe and have fun!
